Blocher

Terry Blocher studied Psychology at West Valley College, and is currently studying at San Jose State University. He has an interest in therapy and the human mind. He also dabbles in script writing.

Don J.
Ciraulo

Don J. Ciraulo (Mr. C) is Professor Emeritus at West Valley College and was for many years the adviser to the Philosophy Club. He is the author of Deflationary Essays, The Keeper of the Flame, The Rebirth of Education out of the Spirit of Philosophy, and World Philosophers on Death.

Omar
Harb

Omar Harb studied at West Valley College and went on to do a B.A. in Comparative Literature at San Francisco State University. He is currently a figurative painter in oils on canvas and writes from time to time about the relationship between aesthetics and philosophy.

Emiliano
Ibarra

Emiliano Ibarra studied philosophy at West Valley College and is currently enrolled at SJSU. He was born in Venezuela and has been living in the U.S. since 2006. He also, and most important for our project, gives his time as editor of the Gadfly.

Andrew
Khazanovsky

Andrew Khazanovsky was a philosophy major at West Valley College and went on to do his B.A., and is finishing his M.A., at San Jose State University. He is also the recipient of the Arturo B. Fallico Award in philosophy.

Robert
Lee

Robert Lee studies philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of Montana after having studied at West Valley College. Before philosophy, marching percussion was his primary pursuit. Music remains for him an important hobby and he currently plays guitar in the San Jose math-rock band, Process.

Mannie
Menéndez-Pidal

Mannie Menéndez-Pidal is a native of the Silicon Valley and is currently studying philosophy at West Valley College. He served as the president for the Philosophy Club during his time at West Valley and is planning to transfer to a university this fall.

Bard
Patel

Bard Patel attended West Valley College and graduated from San Jose State University in 2017 with a B.A. in Philosophy. He is currently employed as a Consultant at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes and its K-12 subdivision Lindamood-Bell Academy.

Menéndez-Pidal

Marina Menéndez-Pidal is a graphic designer who attended DeAnza College, and graduated from San José State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. She currently works at a design consultancy in San Francisco, and previously worked in Seoul, South Korea.

James
Zoland

James David Zoland is an alumni of West Valley College and San Jose State University, where he took a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. He built and maintains the West Valley Philosophy Club site, and currently works as a Software Developer in the Public Sector.
